Mary Phillips is an artist who works in a Renaissance style of oil painting. Her works evolve from conception of composition through initial value study drawings. The underpainting on canvas or linen is then produced, completed with final oil color and glazing. Her works consist largely of figures and portraits, as well as still life and landscape paintings.

Mary Phillips is a juried member of the New Hampshire Artist's Association. Recent awards for painting include the 2008 New Hampshire Artist's Asoociation 60th Anniversary Currier Museum Exhibition Miriam Sawyer Memorial Award for Painting, The first place award in still life category for the 2008 Fourth Annual E.W. Poore's
Juried Art Show, and the 2007 National First Place Award in Oil/Acrylic category of the American Mothers, Inc. Annual Art Competition.

Mrs. Phillips lives and works in New Boston, New Hampshire with her husband and family. She accepts commissions for portraits following consultation.
